A BBQ Sauce Recipe to Die For…

Who doesn’t like a good barbecue sauce for those backyard BBQs? If you are the type of person who avoids the store bought sauces, I’ve got just the recipe for you. It is getting rave reviews on AllRecipes.com so I thought I would share it. It’s called Big Al’s K.C. Bar-B-Q Sauce and it is to die for!

To make 6 cups of the sauce, here is what you’ll need.

  • 2 cups tomato ketchup
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 1/4 cups brown sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 cup un-sulfured molasses
  • 4 teaspoons hickory liquid smoke
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper

Put all of these ingredients in a large saucepan and heat on medium until they are thoroughly mixed and it begins to simmer. Let simmer for another 20 minutes or so. Use as you would any barbecue sauce.
