As we enter the season of giving, we want to highlight ideas for giving back to your community.
The holiday season is a beautiful time of year. During it, we gather friends and family, find tangible ways to show each other we care, and work to express our gratitude. It’s a wonderful season of giving, and it will put a smile on your face to get involved!
If you don’t have a bunch of extra money to give away during the holidays (who does?), don’t worry! There are plenty of other ways to get involved in our local community. Here are just a few ideas for giving back to your community during this season of giving.
- Find a local food drive. Canned food costs very little money, but it can make a very big difference during the holiday season. Touch base with your local food bank to find out which items are especially needed.
- Lend your skills. Are you a musician? Do you know how to write a good resume? Do you have experience coaching a sport? Whatever your talent, consider lending it out to your community. By volunteering in your area of expertise, you can keep your skilled honed and make an impact locally.
- Give your time. Simply showing up and offering your hands to a local animal shelter, soup kitchen, or senior home is huge. These organizations rely on volunteers to run, and you can help them make a difference!
