Moving tips to help you settle into your new home!
Home buying season is here! More sunlight and beautiful weather make the spring and summer seasons a great time to move. However, moving can be a stressful process. As you make your move, make sure that you have all your bases covered. Check out these moving tips to help your move run smoothly.
Start Early.
Due to the busy nature of the season, be sure that you hire a moving company well in advance. If you wait too long, all the moving companies in your neighborhood may be booked through the end of the season. Be sure to make your reservation at least three months ahead of your move in date.
Do Your Homework.
Before you hire a moving company, be sure to do some research. The more you know about a particular company, the more informed you are to make a decision. Look for recommendations from friends and family, check up on internet reviews, and call a few companies to get a few estimates. Before you commit to a company, be sure to read the fine print so you don’t get stuck with any hidden fees or unwanted responsibilities.
Label Everything.
With all of your belongings in boxes, it’s difficult to find what you’re looking for. Make the process less complicated by adding labels to every box. That way, when it’s time to unpack, you won’t be running around the house looking for the box with all your dishware. Instead, it’s an organized, efficient way to unpack.
Set The Essentials Aside.
Despite all your labeling, you may want to have a few essentials like plates, glasses, and towels on hand. Make a list of everything you’ll need within the first couple days of your move and set them aside in a separate box. You now have your essentials, so there’s no rush to unpack.
